About Me
Why This Work Matters to Me
BrightPath grew out of my experience helping my mother navigate vision loss.
She has macular degeneration and receives ongoing treatments to help slow its progression. Like many families, we were referred to specialists and hoped for practical guidance on what tools or technologies might actually help her day to day.
What we found instead was a lot of expense, older solutions, and very little help understanding how modern technology could fit into her life in a realistic way. At the same time, newer tools—including accessibility features built into everyday devices and recent advances in AI—were becoming more capable, but also harder to evaluate and harder to approach for Mom.
That gap between what exists and what people can actually use is where BrightPath began.
What Bright Path is about
A Calm, Practical Approach
I’m not a device manufacturer, and I don’t sell products.
BrightPath exists to help people talk through their options, understand what’s available, and decide what’s worth their time and effort—at a pace that feels comfortable.
Sometimes the right solution is simple: better lighting, a magnifier, or small changes at home. Other times, newer tools like voice assistants or AI can make everyday tasks easier. Our role is not to push technology, but to help people take thoughtful, manageable steps.
Understanding Families, Not Just Technology
Many of the people we work with already have a son, daughter, or friend encouraging them to try new technology. Those conversations often come from a good place—but they can also create pressure or frustration when everyone isn’t moving at the same pace.
BrightPath is designed to support both sides of that dynamic. We aim to slow things down, listen carefully, and help families move forward in a way that respects independence, comfort, and confidence.
Our Perspective
This work is personal. It’s informed by real experience, patience, and the belief that learning works best when it’s grounded in everyday life—not sales pitches or clinical checklists.
BrightPath is about making adaptation feel possible, human, and sustainable.
